Twin Killer again - using a script? [cleared as of now]

Postby firth4eva on Fri Feb 25, 2011 7:29 pm

See: viewtopic.php?f=239&t=137543

Accused:

Twin Killer

The accused are suspected of: Using a script

Game number(s):

Game 8592408

Comments: Game chat clearly shows him starting his turn the exact same second I start mine which is damn near impossible, the fact he does it multiple times indicates cheating. His turn starts and there's even a small gap until he plays his cards. He's been accused before but not busted due to "lack of evidence", can someone please sort this?

Not that hard to start at the same second with Clickable Maps. Just mash the B button a lot until they start their turn.

Or keep it depressed. I think AALmaida used to do that.

Either or. I think it's more apparent that it is depressed if it takes 50 minutes for the person to actually do something with the turn.

Okay so just to be clear, using a script like clikies and mashing or putting a weight on the b button is completely within the rules?

Can another script be written and used that can automatically start turns without using the b button?

Using a script is against the rules. Mechanically holding down the b button is also against the rules.

Proving either without an admission is against the odds of probability.

Would it be against the rules to set one of these hitting the B key?

The rules are very clear at the rules tub.
No one can make rules just by writing at the forum. You should write them at the rules tub if you want to.

TheForgivenOne what do you mean ''From my knowledge? No.''?

am I not right??

Should people read all the forums trying to learn all the hidden rules?
I do not think so.
As I have said, all the players should be allowed to know the rules by reading them at the rules tub

Unwritten Rules

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, holding players hostage, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new recruits.

I do not think using a script is a gross abuse. Many players use them... you have to include them if you want that be a rule.

In my opinion in freestyle game you have the right to start at the same time with your opponents. Do that by using a script and not by sitting in front of your computer pressing refresh is not a gross abuse

BTW you can do some tricks to beat that strategy twin killer use. For example see his time zone and play when he is sleeping. Or wait some hours, there are not a lot of people who are 24 hours on line.

If you do not want to use those tricks why do you play 1vc1 freestyle and not sequential?

Yes. Careful observation would tell you when he is most likely not to be around his computer.

Because the Webmaster has made it quite clear that this is going to be a game of Human Vs. Human. If we allow scripts that instantly start their turn for them without hitting Start Turn, or if a user is using Clickable Maps, the B button, then people are going to start arguing that they should be allowed to use scripts that take their turn for them!

Users have already tried this, and have been told not to. Even our head Multi Hunter (Who is an administrator) has said that if a script is being used to start their turn for them, that their will be punishments, it's just that they are hard to prove it. He said to provide more evidence that they are doing this.

LMAO!! Your saying its illegal to hold down the "B" button on MY computer, which starts MY turn? This site and the logic of some on this site is absolutely laughable. Firth, quit playing freestyle if you cant handle taking a turn using NO SCRIPTS but by simply pressing a computer key-unreal! I would be willing to bet MOST speed game freestyle players do this exact tactic to prevent a bonus from being attacked; this is why most start at the exact same second; impossible to use a mouse to start at the same second; so the thousands of players that do this are in violation of the rules???? LMAO - close this mods!

 sigh!!
There are no scripts; although cheesy, not illegal putting a weight of some sort on the "B" key and the turn will start at the exact second the other player starts; then, u must check periodically every hour to prevent u from missing a turn. Not rocket science; very easy to figure out. Far from being illegal.

Not every single rule is in the Rules Tab. Most of them are defined under "Obvious abuse of the game". I don't see a rule written down about following a player into games to warn other players to kill him off, yet people have been warned about it before. I've personally read that he does not want his site to be controlled by computers, which is one of the reasons there isn't an AI or bots on this site (If I could find his post that says this, I would post it). Using a script to start your turns is the equivalent of having the computer start it for you.

Personally, if this site turned into a bunch of accounts that were having their turns run by bots and scripts, I'd probably leave.

I agree
I also agree that having a device/pencil/instrument/etc. to start your turn in alleged fashion is not fair nor right.
It guarantees troops/held bonus to the "cheater".
