nachito and tilbaldeo- secret alliance

Postby Arch41 on Mon Feb 26, 2007 3:14 am

Subject line: <nachito and tibaldeo>

These are suspected Secret Alliance

Suspect users: nachito and tilbaldeo

Game number: http://www.conquerclub.com/game.php?game=240892

Comments: these players didn't attack each other on unprotected borders including high bonus continents such as Asia. Early in the game I asked tibaldeo if he was crazy or didn't realise that nachito held asia and he didn't bust it and he ignored me. Later in the game when it became apparent that there was an alliance, I explained that they were not allowed and asked both players if this was the case. Nachito abused me and tilbaldeo said that he didn't speak English - so I repeated the question in French and did not receive a response. This was an especially blatant abuse as I am a captain and nachito was a new recruit, so s/he receive 33 points.

I investigated them because I thought it was a multi accusation at first, and they aren't multis if you were wondering. For future reference, try to make sure you spell the user names right; You spelled tibaldeo as 'tilbaldeo' and it makes it a hassel for us to go back and find the right username.

As for the secret alliance, you can leave them negative feedback if you think there is enough evidence and that it is warranted. If there are multiple accusations between players of having a secret alliance they may be blocked from playing together.

Heh, funny that you finally got tricked into finally looking into one of these secret alliances. There's another thread in here where the accused ADMIT their secret alliance in the game chat afterwards, and still nothing was done.

Sorry Arch, most of the vets here have resigned themselves to the fact that this site has rampant cheating with no plans for anything to be done about it.

I will note that since I am a multi hunter (not secret alliance hunter) I sometimes skip over the secret alliance posts. In most cases the response is always the same- leave negative feedback and if enough people see the same thing we will have enough evidence. If you have plans of how we can better stop secret alliances I would love to hear your ideas. Also if you would like to point out the place where a secret alliance was admitted I will look at it.

The genius who announced his secret alliance after the fact can be found here:

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13279

Another brilliant member tried to make a secret alliance by approaching the person in another game and telling them not to say anything in the game where they'd have the alliance. It never transpired so I don't know how that falls with respect to the rules:

http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12910

In this game, two people who speak Danish discuss their secret alliance in another language during the game:

There's some other pretty blatant examples, but unless they actually admit it themselves it can't be proven for certain. That's why people cheat, because they know that no matter how blatant they make it they can just deny everything at the end.

As for what can be done, it's already been rejected. There MUST be some form of anonymous feedback. People are too worried about getting negative feedback left back that they are unwilling under any circumstances. The current feedback system is totally worthless, even the worst players I've ever seen have nothing but feedback saying how great a player they are.

Thanks for looking into this. Sorry about mispelling one of the names, other than that I was trying to be careful in following the form for logging grievances and wasn't trying to trick anybody into investigating. Perhaps if there is no real procedure for investigating secret alliances then the "service" shouldn't be offered.
For anybody who happens to read this and is interested (I will also be giving these players negative feedback) here are some stats from the game. the game was 15 rnds during this, I attacked Tibaldeo 16 times and Nachito 14 times - Tibaldeo attacked me 17 times and Nachito attacked me 14. Nachito attacked Tibaldeo 6 times and Tibaldeo attacked Nachito 2!!! In the last 2 rounds, after I was eliminated all Tibaldeo did was deploy armies with no attacks.
If you want a suggestion as to how to hunt secret alliances, I reckon you can look at games stats like this and they pretty much speak for themselves!!

Samus, I appreciate the support. You are correct, I am new to this and it's nice to know that the cheats aren't respected and honourable players are.
