Game 8079261

Accused:

Steve The Mighty
nudge
CrashAWC

The accused are suspected of:

Other: Sitting abuse

Game number(s):

Game 8079261
Game 8103667

Comments: This is the second time this has happened. Steve is taking turns for both players in the prior game, then 3 players in the current game. I asked Steve not to do this again after being caught in the first game.

Given the game is freestyle team, this offers a massive advantage. Is this within the guidelines?

Firstly I do not recall being asked not to do this but in terms of is it cheating - I think it is within the rules and something I have seen in many games where teams are involved. Had I even considered this to be cheating I would not do it.

I would have thought given Oz Blokes skill he would know and accept this - I find it sad that he is always moaning. You could also argue that it is unfair advantage when 3 players are in the same time zone and can gang up on teams where they are not. This is after all Risk - not pander to Oz Blokes whims!

Have also sent this message to Ozbloke

Apologies - I did not read the log nor did I consider it cheating but part of the freestyle culture. It was not about racking up points or farming them. I am trying to get the freestyle gold medal and that is the only reason I am playing these games. Had I thought this style of play was outside the rules I would not have played this way. I have always played honestly and fairly which is echoed in your comments having now read the log.

sry steve, but this is not allowed. They had more then 23 hours left

Account-Sitting:

* Players are allowed to account-sit for others as long as they are not opponents within the game. When sitting for a player, you need to post who you are and how long you will be sitting for the player so that other players in the game are aware of who they are actually playing.
* Being on another player's account for ANY reason other than taking turns when they are in danger of missing a turn is not allowed. Abuse of this privilege can be considered account sharing and could result in a Bust for both accounts.

Then I apologise for not understanding the rules and will refrain from doing so in the future

Can you also advise where this rule is written as I still cannot see it to understand the implications or if there are other rules that I am not aware of. As I said earlier I thought this form of play was within the rules.

It's clearly written in the early part of chat in the first game

That's what I thought the first time too, but here you are doing it again, and that's just our 2 recent team games against eachother. You're in quite a few other f/s with the same players against other opponents.

What to say to this? I asked you nicely, and nudge ever replied to that in the first game. I even gave you the benefit of the doubt the first time. Always moaning? pandering to my whims? I had a higher regard for you until this Steve. All I've asked is you play fair mate. I don't see this as moaning or asking too much.

As I said I apologise for not reading the log - I am still unaware where these rules are written.

I have always had good games against you but have noticed in other games that where things dont always go your way you do have a tendancy to complain. Not an attack on you just fair comment.

Agreed, I do complain alot, which my ratings reflect. But I play by the rules, and generally have a good rapport with most players. You want to rate me lower for complaining, now this has happened, then fine. But making a note of my complaining in the past doesn't change what's happened, nor does it reflect on the games in question.

All

I am a little shocked to be labelled a cheat as I can assure you a cheat I am not. I have been a premium member of CC for some time now and have always played fair and I am sure many members here can vouch for that (well I hope so at least :D ).

Yes I have given Steve permission to take my turns. If he is guilty of anything its not declaring his name when taking them but surely that doesn't make him, Crash or myself a cheat.

I have not played many freestyle games during my time in cc (310 out of 3032 games) because it always frustrated me with the time difference of team mates and how opposition always managed to play at the same time and win. Its my assumption but I am sure many take their team mates turns. Non the less if its not allowed then I agree to abide by them and once again I will stop playing Freestyle games.

Masli you have quoted a few lines about Account sitting rules (I quote you below).. can you please direct me to them as I was not aware of these rules and sincerely apologise for not actually knowing they are in existance. There are probably a whole load more rules that I should probably read. As the only rules I know of are the ones in the Rule link/tab at the top of the CC web page http://www.conquerclub.com/public.php?mode=rules.

Again sincere apologies if we have abused cc, the rules and other members.

I agree, and I apologize for not making more attempt this to deal with this between us before reporting it.

Please delete this thread. It's clear they haven't willingly abused the rules, and I'm sure they'll not be doing it again.

I have query....

My family and I go away on christmas eve for two weeks... Steve the Mighty is my account sitter in my absences, what does he do in any games that we are in together?

I dont want to give my account access to many different people.

he takes his turns when he feels like it

he takes your turns when he feels like it except in the games that you are in together, which he may take when you are in danger of missing your turn

from the FAQ page

17. Can I let another player take a turn for me when I am away from the game?

You can, with the stipulation that the account babysitter is not your opponent in any current game. It is common courtesy to announce in game chat that another player will take your turn(s) during your absence. Babysitters should only do what is necessary to take the turn(s) and should not interact with the community, start or join new games (except for ongoing tournaments). Furthermore, you should only take another player's turn if they are in danger of missing a turn, not for the purpose of gaining a tactical advantage.

This is an extention of the "Thou shalt not multi" rule. After all playing all by yourself, even as a team, is much easier....

Now freestyle offers the distinct possibility of true teamwork.. and it seems you (tried to) enjoy its benefits by not playing it sequential. Its logical, but certainly a big nono. As far as I can see you violated the rules. luckely i am not a hunter, so i carry no weight around here.. i wonder what the verdict is going to be. Likely a warning
regards,
Sir"I hate freestyle" Sebstar

Steve The Mighty has been formally warned.

As for the others who may have been involved indirectly or not, let this report serve as a warning to you as well. If your playing freestyle, and you have access to your teammate's account/s, remember the account sitting guideline stated by SirSebstar above:

As for nudge, going away for some time, if Steve The Mighty is not breaking anything from the account sitting rules or he meets the guidelines for account sitting your account, then he is free to take your turns while you are away.
