i have never played a game against Sethman585. i have never chatted or pm'd with Sethman585. and i have no idea why he is coming into my games throwing about homophobic slurs about me for absolutely no reason. the fact that i have never played him and he is not in any of the games in which he made his bigoted comments, is truly disturbing. i hope this can be dealt with swiftly and Sethman585 can learn that CC does not tolerate bigotry and/or racism within it's forums or games. otherwise, i fear he may do this to others, and who is to say he is even done posting in my games as of now?

Well owen. I see no racism in this or even bigotry. Heck you can't hardly even call it chat spamming. CC does have zero tolerance for bigotry/racism and the vast majority of us in the CC community are also against it but to "cry wolf" when it's just a kitten?

calling someone gay is against the rules... declaring that i am gay in game chat is against the rules... you seem to have a real problem with understanding "the rules"... i don't know who this guy is, have never had interaction with him, and he just started posting homophobic garbage in my games... it is against the rules...-the black jesus

While I would tend to agree with you on this, it seems to me that the key is that this is someone with whom owenshooter has had absolutely no contact. So they're going into a game of his that they are not involved in and making these statements about him. To me, that adds a significant level to the problem.

You really don't get out much do you? You claim to be a black version of a fictional character. Born of a virgin, never married, possibly had a relationship with a prostitute, who regularly hung around with 12 guys..and you take offence at the suggestion this might be the teensiest tiniest bit gay?

I don't see where he's called you homosexual, why are you jumping to conclusions? Gay also means happy, it also means bright or showy: gay colors; gay ornaments, which describes your picture, which is by it's dictionary definition gay. so you have a gay picture, is that bad?

But back to your missing the point..Yet, when I suggest another fictional character, who really shouldn't worry about being called portly, and correlate the two, you miss it. Guess you're not the sharpest tool in the box..

ahhhhh, the arguments of a juvenile, this one does not work. playing around with the definition of gay does not excuse his actions. just as people declaring that "fa**ot" simply means cigarette or stick. we all know the many definitions of the word, it has been used in defense before in C&A, and it has failed. thanks for a peek into your juvenile mind once again. furthermore, where on the game page is my avatar visible? where does he state he is describing my avatar? you really are clueless and should stop posting in this thread, because again, your comments are doltish...-the black jesus

Definitely out of line - not being part of a game and posting these types of comments must surely break the gamechat abuse/flaming rules, regardless of whether you consider it bigotry or not. That would make it at least worthy of a warning in my opinion

On a side note: Unc D you should familiarize yourself with the facts before spewing your witisms.

Some complaints are worth while to argue against. Like this one. Owen makes "non straight" comments like that and then gets "gay" slung at him and turns around and files a bigotry complaint which is a serious infraction. Which quite frankly this does not deserve to be a violation of. Fortunately for CC my personality disorder does not interfere with all the free time I have on my hands and I am able to argue and spin complaints towards truth.

Someone in that game is a buddy of Sethmans, alerted him to the chat comments and put him up to posting that.

If he had slung the "f" slur then there would be no argument about bigotry and a warning/ban would have been in order and demanded but that isn't what transpired.

This complaint should be NOTED but nothing else.

Now I must run along and take my meds.

fact of the matter is, i have no connection with the guy. pedro was also not in the game when he came in to make his comments. there is no legit reason for sethman to come into my game and throw about homophobic/bigoted comments... he is not part of the game and i have never had any interaction with him.-the black jesus

Isn't exactly, hi all, have a good game now is it, it's at least as juvenille and pathetic as the gay comment.

I really don't think gay is the same as n*gg** as an insult, at least not in English, but it might be different in American.

Over here, you call anyone of colour a N*gg**, and you would expect a smack in the face, or a full blown fight at the best. Gay is completely different. (again in English) If we take Gay to mean someones sexual persuasion, then does this mean you now consider straight to also be an insult?

Bottom line, is they should both grow up.

Just because I think being homosexual is perfectly fine and won't use the term gay in this way, doesn't change the fact that plenty of folks use it as an insult.

Also, whatever owen did has nothing to do with the complaint. He didn't goad the person who posted the gay remarks, because the person who posted them wasn't even in the game. They just showed up and started posting bigoted shit.

So, hammer that person. That shouldn't be tolerated. I'm not sure why folks keep bringing up owen's comments in the chat beforehand. Were they stupid? Sure. Were they bigoted? No. So, why do they matter?

Also, my reasoning for the 'n' word and 'gay' as an insult being equal is because in America there is a lot of debate going on about homosexuals presently and while it is not on the level of the intolerance toward African Americans in the 1960s as far as abuse, it is there on the level of intolerance. The homosexual issue in America is very present and at the forefront and is the great movement of our time, but I digress.

Also, if you are going to rip Owen for not using capitalized letters, you should learn to use ellipses and periods.
