I suppose most premium members at some point in their career have thrown up a few 5player standard games, and been surprised to log in and find them full of New Recruits. One has asked oneself why, and found out that new recruits are limited to 5player games or smaller. (most of us thus avoid creating 5player standard public games)

CC has very mild anti-farming legislation. If player X was to join 100 1v1 games where the creator is a private, cook or cadet, that can't be constituted as cheating. Only by specifically targeting New Recruits do you make yourself guilty of cheating.
It can be concluded beyond all reasonable doubt that LMS did just this. What possible defence could he have? That he just Loves playing 5player Pelo that much? That he didn't realize it was a NR magnet after the first 30 games? I rest my case.

P.S. Do I want to be the guy that blows the whistle on a prominent member of a prominent clan, with scores of friends left and right? I think not. But a lot of people have seen this, and a lot of people have said nothing. Furthermore, when people neglect to report something like this, it might give people the idea that they can get away with anything. Who knows, what they may turn to next...

Usually, something like this would seem to be farming, however when looked at, it seems that LMS was starting Nuclear spoils games to get the medal which was awarded on the 14th of this month. I can't seem to see any of these games being made since then.

He might have made these NS by accident, but anyway;

I don't see how it matters though if the objective is points or medals, he created a game/setting with the specific intention of luring New Recruits, which is against the rules.

Going for a medal does not make it alright to farm. There was 80+ games on this setting and 1500 or so points won. He should have seen after game 5 or so they were not filling up with normal players. There is nothing that can defend this action.

doesn't mean I agree with it, but that was just 3-4 months ago.

b00060 is cleared of farming. His intention was not to play new recruits. A great variety of ranks are playing these games and b00060 is not dropping the games when someone decent comes along and plays. Its also not the only variety of game he plays. All of this to me I believe its not his intention to farm newbies.

It is different in a couple of ways:
1) A great variety of ranks are not playing these games. There are a tremendous amount of new recruits, and the rest are all low ranks.
2) I don't remember, but I don't think B00 gained a ton of points from this. L M S has gained 1,500 points over a very short period of time.

The difference is that pretty much 85% of the players in my linked games are New Recruits, of of those that are privates I'd say a fair few WERE New Recruits at the time L M S played them, but have, as they exceeded 5 played games, gotten a normal rank.

Everybody knows you get only New Recruits if you pick 5 player games as a setting.
Then pick a map that is in the list of maps New Recruits can join, and make a whole bunch of them.
New Recruits can't see 6-8 man games, so in the Join A Game list, they will pretty soon show up at the first page, while at the same time, it's still on like page 30 for the rest of CC.

There is no way L M S did not know this if he made that many games.
Combined with the obvious points thrown to him by tdans, a point reset is definitely in order if CC still wants its point system to mean anything at all.

This looks pretty bad, no matter how you cut it.

Wouldn't expect LMS to go to the dark side and get all fanatic about points, but it seems that once you taste the higher echelon of ranks it's like crack. He ain't the first one to stick his wick into a points making enterprise, and won't be the last.

points reset seems a little harsh...Maybe he can do some community service and teach Noobs not to join farming games?

Yea it looks bad with all the NR joining, but can you really get in trouble for making an open game and having NR's joining by themselves without invites or anything? Has anyone got warned or banned for this before?

Yes

(Though I don't think anyone has been BANNED per se, but they have gotten busted due to this. It's all about intention..and letting it happen.)

LMS was contacted by the MH department about this several days ago and has stopped. This has already been dealt with. For the record, yes, he was going after the nuke and freestyle medals.

Well CC seems to have been on top of this one. Course they could eliminate some of these issues by actually blocking NR from the maps that are used for medal hunting...

And which maps are those? Because I have seen all types of maps used. Personally I think they would be better off blocking them from Nuclear and Freestyle. Everything from Waterloo, Pelo Wars, Portugal, Feudal, etc has been used. So a mix of all types of maps.

Just reset me down to 1 point please. I really mean that, if it's possible, do it. I could care less about the points anyway. Medals is what I was after, I got them and that was the end of it. Had I trudged through and taken more than two weeks to get the 300 UD's I needed for each of those medals this would be a non issue...whatever, this has been discussed and resolved already and I didn't set the precedent. Go take your fucking witch hunt somewhere else and f*ck off while you're at it. This is more CC e-drama and I don't give a shit what you think really. If you think you can beat me at 5 man Freeestyle Pelo then bring it, I will beat your ass too.

Just for the record i already did this told the multi-hunters about this behind closed doors and there is precedent to say that it's ok if you are going for medals not score.

lol this whole thing is another farce. sorry but most people who play freestyle us setting with 5 players. when medal chasing on a board they like. instead of reporting players for doing this why dont you start bringing up the fact that nr's should not be allowed 2 play freestyle.

Yes, several people have been warned and told to stop making a bunch of games using a specific setting that they know new recruits will join. I can't remember who it was in one thread, but the logic used to warn him from creating more similar games was, "You know that eventually some of these games that don't fill will float to the top where new recruits are going to join the first games they see." If I remember right, that person was making between 10 and 20 of the same setting at a time.

I would like to play on the same team with you if you get reset to 1 point, I think we'd make a hell of a doubles, triples or quads team.

I think if someone isn't abusing the foe system and has NRs join their game, even if the settings are tempting to NRs it should not be a problem. The problem with past individuals like Klobber was he blocked most of the site from joining them so there was no possibility of having an equitable game. LMS does not abuse his foe list and if anyone wanted to stop this supposed "farming", all they had to do was join a game with him. I don't understand why there are some settings that draw NRs in that members of CC are now supposed to be blocked from playing on - why not just make baby maps for NRs and then open up the remainder once they move on and just prevent the rest of the community from playing on the baby maps. That's the type of coddling this precedent is trying to support and it's utterly ridiculous. Has LMS joined games against NRs? No. Has LMS created games and blocked massive amounts of non-NRs to facilitate games solely against NRs? No. Case over.

you can't get one without getting the other. in a general case and not just for this specific one, if you are going for medals, you need to build your unique wins and at the same time you're building your score. i can't see how they would allow one without allowing the other. it's the same precedent
