Accused:
Osama Bi LadenThe accused are suspected of:
Other: this players name is offensive. i come to this conclusion due to the fact that this users name is a well now terrorist and should not be advertised on cc.Due to the fact this person has been behind many bombings in the USA and Great Britain.Like the well know German symbol that is not allowed on this site i don't think this name should be allowed.
Game number(s): all games
Comments: i have had a friend of my family severely injured in one of his bombings.

well I see your point. though, should we disallow names with bush, or any american president names because I think the people here over in the east would find THAT offensive because american troops are going over there and killing their families.
See I agree with you, yet if we do one thing here then why should we dictate what they do not find offensive?
I mean look at your name, eddie, what if my family was killed by a man named eddie? then wouldn't I find that offensive as well? same with hitler, he is a name, or adolf, I have a friend named adolf, should I call him something else just because one man under that name killed many for what he BELIEVED right in his sick twisted mind?
So you see again, I agree that the name is offensive but then so could almost any other name, what if Osama was HIS name? but then he decided to add bin laden for some stupid reason?

I did look into this before i started this thread. i can see where you are coming from by saying any name could be offensive. But did this name not bring several continents to a stand still with bomb threats and more. as for the bit about usa going to these continents was this not with the backing of the UN. I do feel sorry for others that might come across a name of someone that would affect them but this name is promoting a name that is an international terrorist. Remember what bush did was counter act an act of terrorism that how many people have died because of this one person who is still a threat 2 the world. and since this is a USA based site it is not very good thinking from the user that picked this name .
ps he is from italy

You must be getting this guy confused with Osama Bin Laden.
Besides. I've seen names referencing Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Genghis Kahn, etc, etc. Can you imagine the precedent that would be set by this? Where do you draw the line? As someone mention above, American Presidents can be seen as terrorists by those in other nations.
Just go out and challenge this guy to a game. Then you can say you've beat Osama Bin Laden... something Bush can't.

the hitler, stalin, mussolini names all bite the dust... genghis khan is a different matter, that would be like eradicating names that referenced alexander the great, totally different types of leaders/conquests... anyway, bad point, because most of the names you listed, when referenced as a user name, are changed...-the black jesus

eddie , i see your point and agree with it tremendously but realize there are hypocrits all over the world , Just because you are on a website does not mean it is not run and owned by these individuals. The point i am trying to make is that evryone else`s feelings matter except yours ... and mine and anyone else that decides something is truly offensive. Its the issue like the nazi sign that no one that i know of has ever complained against that gets banned..
This was done to incite people`s feelings .. A bait as they would call it here..

Go do a search, Owen. There are at least 2 active Hitlers and 3 Stalins referenced at this moment. One of them is even named
BlackHitler. Surely a concern that I'm sure you'll soon make a new thread about
So, it's a perfectly good point.
I'm not saying I'm in favor of said names... all I am saying is that making a fuss is just letting people know they've won. All they care about is offending others, so if you don't show them you're offended... they lose. Raising a stink about it only makes them feel better.

He's probably a dumb kid who won't be around for long anyway. I was in a game with a player who had the name of a German WWII general, which one I can't remember but it was a bad guy and one you wouldn't pick. It turned out after razzing him a little that he picked it drunk and thought it was another general, not the one he wanted. He meant no harm and was stuck with the name. It would be nice if we were identified by a player number so that names could be changed but noted so a player could still be tracked. I think it's punishment enough that he's stuck with that name. This does bring up an interesting discussion however, who is to say what real name is offensive, historical or otherwise. Taking the name of a villain in a war game shouldn't be scrutinized too much. Using profanities or slurs in a name is a different matter.

Terrorism and terrorists are a stain on humanity and deserves extermination. With that said it's just a name that resembles/references slime.
No rules violation. Just extremely poor taste.

This is cleared. Not an offensive name but feel free to think otherwise. This thread is also locked before it goes out of hand to terrorists, religion, etc.
