gcwca_4_life -farming [cleared] lv

Accused:
gcwca_4_life

The accused are suspected of:
Farming Question Marks/Newbies
Being Multis

Game number(s):
Game 7390272
Game 7390271
Game 7390269
Game 7382530

Comments: I normally would never accuse someone of cheating in games I wasn't involved in, but this just looks too fishy and I don't think anyone else would notice it. Allow me to explain:

I'm involved in a Europe 1914 public game here: Game 7384001

It involves a question mark, jp191190

That player hasn't taken any turns and is about to deadbeat. I looked at his game log and he's only involved in one other game: Game 7382530

That game has 3 other question marks and then the player gcwca_4_life. It then dawned on me that gcwca_4_life had posted on my wall the other day, asking me to join a tournament, despite the fact that I have never played a game with him (and he's played over 11,000). So, I looked at the rest of gcwca_4_life's games. It seems he has several dozen Luxembourg games recently where he is playing question marks that never take their turns. A few would be understandable (question marks show up at games, and they sometimes deadbeat). But that many games? Same map, all question marks, he wins them all? And then he happens to post on my wall, when we've never crossed paths. I could be wrong, I know, but it just seems too obvious. I think, at the very minimum, gcwca_4_life and jp191190 are multis... and I suspect there are several more instances.

I'd have let it go, but if he is creating newbie accounts and putting them into other games (like my Europe 1914 one) to cover his tracks... well, that just means he's ruining games for other people, too. I hope this gets looked into. Thanks. And I'll apologize in advance if I'm wrong.

Well, you are a pretty prominent TO, so I'd imagine that's how gc ended up contacting you about the tourney.

Hmmm. This should be fun.. Was trying for my nuke medal, and set up a few games. I stopped making them when I noticed only ?'s were joining.

Anyways, Idc the outcome of this. But it will be fun to watch from here. ;)

Ooooh yea. If I farm, it will be on AoR. Not any classic styled maps. ;)

Going for Nuclear medals does not constitute farming in itself. (See b00060)

5 games comes nowhere close to farming.

gcwca contacted MANY peeps, myself included, about his tourney. I receive tourney announcements from many other TO including those I do not know.

Ok. Totally my fault if I'm off-base. And I apologize. I probably should have asked an admin via PM first, but I was under the impression that's not the way to do things and that any suspicions should be made public.

I only made the accusation because it seems like there are a lot of question marks in games and I noticed it because I was checking on the question mark that landed in my game. It also seemed like several question marks were created solely to land in two games. Also, I did examine more than 5 games, for the record, but I only listed a few up top. Anyway, perhaps this (having a ton of question marks in your public games) is far more commonplace than I thought. I'm a bit in the dark here because I rarely play public games.

If that's the case, again, I apologize. Hope there are no hard feelings gcwca_4_life.

gcwca_4_life is not cheating here. I'm confident of this because I corresponded with him before I filed one of my complaints on a couple of players as I had seen that he had similar problems to the one that I had seen. A lot of times when we set games up it may look funny but we can't decide who joins our games. A lot of ? join my games and I welcome anyone to perform an IP check on my account. It is frustrating when so many join your games but I don't join games with ? normally unless there are more experienced players involved in the game as well.

Not blaming you for reporting though as I have reported things that looked suspicious to me but turned out to be just something strange and not against the rules.

HAPPY CONQUERING!!!

Agreed, he is not farming. These games a) arent his majority of games. b) he isnt exclusively playing nr's.

This has to be the most unlikely case of farming..... Farmers generally have some rank. Some of the "better" farmers even have original/novel approaches to attracting newbies.
