a quick look at his first page of games shows about 20 games with only new recruits, pretty clearcut case. Unfortunatly somone is going to have to do the "legwork" I think. The mods seem to hate the "look at his ratings/games" argument hah.

Million doller question, though the answer is obvious; Did he invite you?

These are just a few CLEAR CUT games of him vs 4 NR. there's a lot more, including many where he and a captain play against 3 NRs.

Game 7347032
Game 7347031
Game 7347028
Game 7347027
Game 7347023
Game 7347020
Game 7347019
Game 7347018
Game 7347017
Game 7324270
Game 7324269
Game 7324268
Game 7324267

Just to give the mods what they like. There's a lot more where that came from.

if he didn't invite you then I don't think this is farming. 5 player games are new recruit havens because it's the largest games they can play (no 6-8 player games for new recruits). While he may be playing those settings because he knows he can get easy wins against new recruits, that's not illegal. It's only illegal if he invites them.

well that's retarded. I mean this guy (as well as Aal) may very well be playing these games because he knows new recruits will join, but what if he just likes the settings for whatever reason? He shouldn't be punished for that. I don't like that rule. Maybe if it was total farming settings on a hard map, but Lux? (and Classic for Aal), not exactly great farming maps.

Well with those rules yes, I guess this may warrant a warning. Even with that though, he's playing probably half his games without these settings (8 man arms race/some lux, some 1v1 speeders)

But the rule is "Systematically targeting new recruits". This is what Aal was doing on the Montreal and Portugal map. He created about 30 games, realized they were only being joined by NR's, and kept creating them. His scored jumped from about 1700~ to 3000+ because of this. He was even DROPPING games that majors were joining. If that is not farming, then nothing is jr.

Edit**

Here, i'll show you what lack said
lackattack wrote:"Newbie Farming" is the technique of setting up as many games as possible (either by starting or joining them) with New Recruits to gain easy points by taking advantage of difficult game options and the fact the New Recruits are more likely to deadbeat.

ok, you're right I guess. I still don't like it most of the time, but if you see shim dropping games when good players join along with playing 5 player, ya that makes sense. I still say this is not farming though, half his games aren't 5 player (a lot are 8 player which new recruits can't join), the map is all luck (which doesn't really have much to do with it, but still), and as far as we know he's not dropping games

ok, guess he's not a multi. Alex wouldn't say that if they're the same person, has to go home at some point, then it would be obvious

Farming is systematically targeting new recruits for ill gotten gains.

We have no evidence to support that he is inviting new recruits or dropping games when veteran accounts join. As already stated the choice of settings being used from time to time is the most popular with new players. So for the time being this is being Noted and the player has been reminded to watch his game count with the newbs. Future endeavors of this nature could cause disciplinary actions involving farming, but not now.
