Game 6561912Comments: I didn't realize these existed, but after his turned started the within second of mine a few times (even after several hours of break), I confronted him about it. He responded with "lol".

Round 15 - His turn starts 1 second after mine. He runs out of time. I begin my turn immediately in Round 16, and he begins his turn 1 second later. Now, tell me, why would he begin his turn, and then let all his troops expire, just to wait for me to begin the next round? This is the most direct proof of a bot as one could ever need.

I know 1000's of people use scripts. I'm one of them. However, I use scripts that analyze the board, not ones that
take my turn for me.

Actually I didnt even notice it was you. It was directed to Aalmeida as I am used to hearing it from him. Guess I got confused with the quotes.

It would seem that you benefited from the "use of a script".
Aal seems to have only lost troops not deployed. His turn was obviously not taken - only started.

Which means he was able to spread as thin as possible while keeping the region bonuses, and get around to his turn when he felt like it.

I just re-read your post, and I see what you were getting at. He missed his turn
once, and it was at a point where it didn't matter much any more. He used the script (bot, program, whatever) for several rounds before that.

Well even if he has a "script" to initiate the turn it does not make deploys or anything. It obviously requires him to proceed with it.
If this is what he is up too I see no advantage from it.

scripts were discussed and decided to be a gross abuse of game.
they very much give an advantage on a freestyle game, because it allows a person to get a bonus by not being there. in this case, he wasnt even there for an hour.
It would ruin freestyle completely to allow these explicitly, but this is certainly not the first instance of someone using them. Many players have used them. There are many cases where the turn starts, but the turn isnt made for 10-15, even 40 minutes at times. Its perfectly allowed to stay by the computer and hit begin, but not to have the computer hit it.
Technically, its still possible that AAlmeida simply hit b, and then forgot about the game, but its ridiculously unblelievable and likely.
its also possible he just had something pressing the b button for him, but that is still a gross abuse of the game.
there is one other way to pull something off, and I was tempted to do it myself, and im sure some use the method, and im pretty sure ive seen it. if you have two computers, you can set one up on the game, continue to hit "b", and check in periodically. you can then use the other computer to make other moves, and just check from time to time. My guess is this would be frowned on, so while I occassionally will set my other computer up on a game, Ive never taken advantage of it, even though it was just a click away. Im sure others have.
Its a very hard thing to prove, and unless the person misses completely, its hard to even suspect, it is odd that it was a second after the begin, and that precludes a weight on the button, because that would trigger his turn, immediately.
with no knowledge of such things, I assume an rss feed notifies the computer that a turn is ready, and the script hits "b" for the player. there is no doubt this should be punished when discovered. It almost seems as though aalmeida himself is confessing that a script was used, but its not perfectly clear.
If that script becomes available to the gen public, I want one.

I agree it's almost impossible to prove, but aalmeida's sheer stupidity in round 15 was indisputable proof. His turn began one second after mine, he ran out of time, and then his turn began one second after mine again, 10 seconds after he ran out of time. He obviously left the computer and forgot to turn off his little toy.

Indeed. I would be hard to imagine any other explanation here.
I see no problems with this being viewed as a gross abuse violation. Besides the rather clear mod statement that was linked to, as far as I'm aware applicable and ok'd scripts are to be found in the subforum re this. Anything not found there shouldn't be used.

good luck with this. I played someone ( which I wont mention ) and he began turn at the exact same time. I waited 10 hours into a freestyle game and hit the "begin" button only to see my opponent get rewarded all his bonuses at the exact same time. The same thing happened the next round. I filled out an e-ticket and the party in question received not even a warning. In the same time frame this took place, there was a thread on the Plug-in section with someone that created an auto begin turn script but was warned that it was not permitted to be used. The party in question even posted in that thread that he wanted it. A couple days later I was nailed with back to back turns of this player beginning turns at the exact same time. It is possible to start a turn 0-1 second(s) after the other player begins turn if your sitting there playing real time.

if he had a weight on the b button, it would not have taken one second to start the turn. It would have been instantaneous, unless he changed his computer settings to make it only type every second

if a script is deemed illegal, a weight should be deemed illegal as well. Lack of a high tech aspect of the abuse does not change that nature of said abuse. If the script is illegal, because all it does is AUTOMATICALLY hit the b button (or digital alternative), then a non-tech means that does the same thing should be illegal.
