It doesn't matter if another user rubs you the wrong way, that's not an excuse to flame or attack them.
Attacking a person instead of the user is NOT ok - it's all fun and games until it becomes personal.
Using a person's real information, picture, address, blog or anything else "personal" is NOT ok.
i dont know if that is "legal" becaues he is not targeting anyone persanoal but should be warened

Honestly, if it is true, I fail to see how it can be a flame.
I understand when someone goes off swearing, insulting the person, etc., but this is ridiculous. It is almost as if you are suggesting that saying Zimbabwe's government sucks is a flame. Their inflation is over 12000% last year, next highest was 35%... point being: if it is a validated statement that is not said in a flaming way (with insults, swears, random crap about the person's mother etc.), how can you call it a flame?

How can you call it a flame when it's not against a person or a group of people, but rather against some region of the United States?
Not to mention this is a ridiculous cheating and abuse entry, which begs the question why should we or the moderators address this in any serious fashion.

True. There is a "Report this post, button"
It has several advantages:
1. The mods deal with it faster
2. Only the mods see it
3. The mods don't have to pretend to look into it if they know the person is an idiot and reports random posts
(Honestly, I'd forgotten about it myself for a bit. Thanks for the reminder of it) - even though you did not mention it, just sparked the memory.

As a representative of the modern southern United States, I can say that I am not offended and do not consider the thread to be flaming. It does show that there is a large proportion of posters who are insecure about the racial tensions Americans have experienced, and, notably, overcome, in the past. It is unclear whether this is better illustrated by those siding with the North or by those siding with the South (we can safely assume the people bleating on about California are generally clueless). I think Mr. Dave's goal in creating the thread was to expose this insecurity and address it in a manner that is both interesting and amusing to those involved in the discussion. Any offense taken is clearly an overcompensation for feelings of guilt that need to be assessed and dealt with in a positive manner. The simple fact that the accusations of racism and abuse are being taken so personally is indicative of these feelings.
Really, we should all grow up and take these issues head-on in a manner similar to the greatest of our forebears: with poise, confidence, and resplendent integrity.
Srsly, your bitching hurts your cause more than helps it.

I live in Texas, and I don't find it the least bit offensive. I just said it to some of my friends who are "native" to Texas (the South), and all of them found it funny rather than offensive.

Colton, you've got to grow up boy. And stop allowing yourself to be offended by things. This thread was a waste of time. You voicing your offense was a waste of time. And you've given yourself a reputation now, and it's going to take a LOT of time before people will start taking you seriously, even IF you do manage to change your ways.
