[quote="rbelgrod"]ok, I hope this to be the last post

If commander is found guilty, i beg that the mods show consideration for him
He is a great player, and a great person to have on this site. He DOES do alot of good for the community
/quote]i dont know the guy but yeah why not lets have one rule for your friends and one rule for someone else. How about if he is guilty and i am not saying he is then the appropriate punishment is applied otherwise for future decisions the mods and maybe even the owner of the site will have huge problems by setting precident.

Oh no... is this another buddysystem? Please God, no. Not Commander. He's not the kind of guy to do this.

Okay, I know that I usually don't post in topics but this thread captured my attention today.

I've look at most of the posts and I wanted to throw this out there.

Is this possibly an ipv4 vs ipv6 issue?

I don't know what the tracking tools are and I don't know if they are capable of distinguisishing between the two addresses types but what if the accused has an isp that is not converting properly and all users of a certain range look like they are the same person.

I don't know all the ins and outs of the new addressing schema but if the accused is telling the truth and by the looks of it a large voice believes him could this be an explination?

Everyone should be treated equally. If found guilty the punishment should be the same for everyone. The mods need to be firm, fair and consistant. The punishment should be swift and sure

Okay fair enough. I thought that it had been established that multiple people could have had access so I was just offering a thought on how another computer could've accessed the acCount but looked like it came from the accused ip.

If the isp uses dhcp could that explain why the same ip is logged but not the same computer?

I actually put a scenario forwards about this over 3 years ago.

Now there's a thought. Personality 1 goes to his PC, sees someone else has been playing on it, this adds to his paranoia. He then arrives here by searching the history...

He finds his worst nightmare...multi personalities abound. He is now looking for a needle in a haystack and falls asleep with exhaustion searching. Personality 3 wakes up (personality 2 being the villain of this piece) and sees a page of names in front of him. He immediately thinks he is having a day mare (something he often suffers from) and lets out a scream...

Gibbering incoherently he signs up and searches for spare games. As luck would have it, he signs to P2 games. Then sits waiting...

He gives up and retires, only for P1 to wake up. Remembering this site he returns to the search, meanwhile he decides to be sneaky and get on the inside and find his nemesis. He also signs up on the same games, wondering why the names look vaguely familiar.

Enter - stage right. Mr Innocent, unknowingly signs up as the last person in these 4 player games....oh dear oh dear oh dear...whatever will happen now...

P1 kicks off, within a couple of rounds he pms P3 with a deal to force the others out. P3 refuses and posts in the game log that PI is a complete nutter and w****r, and not to be trusted under any circumstances. PI thinks he has found his nemesis, why else would he refuse a reasonable request. P2, meanwhile, keeps wondering why his keyboard looks so battered and wonders who else is in the house while he is asleep.

Mr I wonders how he has managed to find himself in this nether world where the other 3 players have some uncommon similarities yet seem hell bent on abusing each other. He goes and reads Alice in Wonderland for light relief.

P2 attacks P3 because he hates his being a snitch, meanwhile P1 buddys up to Mr I thinking he has found a ‘real’ friend (as against the multitude of friends constantly shouting at him in his brain). P2 then accuses Mr I of forming a secret alliance with P1; P3 sees his chance and tryies to wipe out P1. Mr I feels sick.

P1 suddenly goes AWOL. Then P2 and P3 also go AWOL (the authorities have decided it is time for a rest for said owner of these personalities). Mr I gains the games by default...

Only for all 3 to return a week later abusing Mr I of being a cheat as they blame him for not taking their turns. Mr I cannot understand what has happened to his life, his email box is full of venomous emails, threatening him; his wife is astounded he knows such people and threatens to leave him. He asks the senders to desist, but it is like trying to stop the advance of the Gobi desert. All 3 stalk his account here…so he opens another…WHAM he is hit with a multi ban.

its going to come back guilty...unless someone pm'd them evidence there is no evidence to suggest that he didn't do it here and that is what they were looking for.

Do i see a motive for him to do it? No but i still see that being the verdict based on the posts here and the statements made by the C&A mods.

gstrong got me thinking..

If i was to log into my account (just like i am now) and someone was to also log in to my account while i was on.. would it show the other persons IP? just curious... i would assume it would still log the other persons ip because the flag on my account would change (assuming the other person is from a different country)

sadly, I think you're correct.
looks to me like they will officially rule him to be guilty.
Does anyone know what the penalty will be? Is he banned for a month, 6months, forever?
Does his time already served count towards the sentence?

ussual is 6 months for point dumping but commander broke site rules after he was put on block where he was warned several times and caused another player to get a 24 hour ban, even after that he carried on doing it so it will more than likely be longer than that.

you want me to quote the entire msg the hunters gave on possibilities?
the 6 month period is for safekeeping only, during which no new games can be created, but the current games can still be played..
and there are a few other details gone awry.
but it is close enough, for my liking. i did not see it was wrong.

Call me crazy, but a 6-month ban for a point dump that was deeply irrational and strenuously denied seems insanely punitive. Seems odd that said punishment would be preposterously in excess of the penalty for being a multi, supposedly the #1 rule of CC.

Considering the fact that a multi gets bannen. period, and 6 months is less then permananet, then i cannot follow your argument.
If you mean paying €25 USD will solve the bannishment for a multi, but not for a alleged pointdumper. Tes, i can see that.
But the 6 months period is for safekeeping more then anything else. Normally if you could prove that you are back in control of your account, you would get restored sooner , i think... Obviously, this case is a problem, and i don't recall seeing a definitive penalty, yet.
I can counsel only patience and to find proof of what really happened.

Guys or Gals i normally don't ever step into these forums because of what ever you say here normally gets twisted and quoted and distorted to end up no where close to what you meant in the first place.
What I am wanting to bring up here may have already been talked about before here but i dont have time to read through all this posting so if it has sorry for bringing it up again.
First of all Commander i consider a good friend, partner and clan mate here. If he did do this for the life of me i cant understand why he would have? So i believe him until proven 100% wrong, I know some of you already know this but for the ones that dont...sites like
http://www.squidoo.com/hideipaddressthen there ishttp://download.cnet.com/Easy-Hide-IP/3000-2144_4-10714026.html
exist all over the net and they work...it is so very easy to change/hide/block your IP address that its not even funny! With this being the only evidence against him "His IP address being used" this can not ever be proven 100% :? I know people that do it at work just to cover there tracks on sites that they shouldn't be on if you know what i mean  I am not that knowledgeable about those things but people that do tell me they can track my IP address then with the right software set that IP to any computer online and make it look like it came from it? So like i said this may have already been brought up if so i apologize for taking up space here but if it hadnt then it needs to have been.
Just hope this can be settled very soon for commanders sake and our clan's benefit because he is a needed player in our group.
On another note here.....6 months? wow I have to agree with some posted before, that long for ruining your own account seems unreal?

Please take this post as just another option to look at and nothing else, I DON'T know all the facts and dont pretend to so dont try and make this into anything else.

Thanks BYR

Hi BYR,
Sadly the hunters have more information then just a stray IP adres. I am not privy to them, but i have been assured that just masking your ip adres is not enough.. But just consider this. Not only did they apparently use the same ip as commander use's normally, but they then also had acces to commanders pw and the inclintion to mess him up.. The hunters have not closed the case, if commander or someone else can conclusivly proof he did not do it, he is off the hook. this thread is about who has usuable tips for the truth, whatever it may be..

currently I am unaware if the case has been desided yet..

Thanks Sir, and I understand there may be more than is being published. Just another thought and i will stop taking up space here but "IF" a person was computor wary enough to change and modify Ip addresses hacking a password is a walk in the park ;) I have had a guy do that to me just to prove that is was easy  But proof yes or no I have none just things to run through the minds of the powers of CC ( which i am sure they already have ) :)

i do bealive that it has been stated many times that accessing the site via proxy is IMPOSSABLE to do and i do bealvie it has been said by admins and the multi hunters as well. i have not tried it to test and dont plan on it but with that said if it is in fact IMPOSSABLE to access the site via proxy then unless someone found a way to somehow copy his ip then it was his ip.

i will how ever also say this i used to play CC at school all the time and i know that the school laptops all have the same IP so maybe it is possable that IF he played it at school then someone else at the school might ahve had a grudge against him and knew he played CC then it is possable that the person with the grudge did it but thats a long shot

proxy is not impossible, just that many are blocked.
same ip is possible, but it was not his schools IP but his home IP
