theherkman point dumper [vacationed]

Postby HighlanderAttack on Sun Jan 09, 2011 8:00 pm

The accused are suspected of:

Point Dumpiong

1304 games started and he is not taking turns in any of them

Comments:

His excuses include a crashed pc, a car accident, and ie crashing.

Basically he started these games and realized the task at hand and decided it would be easier to dump.

He took one turn in a few of my games (or someone took turns on his account in my games that I didn't take) but that's it...

2 C&A's at the same time - is it a new record?

As far as the issue itself goes, he indeed did take a couple of turns against me in the dubs, but almost everyone of them has been taken by AoG.
But... It was so artistically done.

He will be at 1 point before very long, since he's he's down to 130-odd now and has hundreds of games still running.

Once these games deadbeat out, we will be left with a fairly capable player on 1 point.

Yep. This absolutely seems like at the very least a point-reset situation (given the nature of why it happened).

(And I'm gonna be pretty annoyed if he starts playing his 1-vs-1 games with me now...and I don't even care that much about points or rank!)

He's making no effort to play any of the games, currently sitting at 34 points. I think he's going for a record double - most active games and lowest score.

I just finished a game with him for which I scored (and he lost) 0 points.

I guess he will reach a point soon (if not already, I haven't checked the maths) where his score only falls when he gets beaten by a fellow cook.

Assuming he doesn't come back on a turn a game around, I should win my games against him 50-0 for a total gain of about 30 points.

You do however seem to have a personal axe to grind with theherkman, eddie.

no look at buddysystem case someone might of hacked his account and he was banned for pointdumping. my point is he makes all these games then uses excuses for not playing ie he cannot get into games but he is posting in the game chat.

Think it's unlikely that he'll drop to 0 points (1 point is already the all-time low as far as I know). Think he would needs to get beaten by a player with <20 points for a score of 1 to drop to 0.

I think all he would need to do is reach .49 and it would show as zero. Just like my 100% turns taken --I have missed at least 100 turns lifetime--usually in speed games when I fell asleep--lol--but mine has always shown 100% as I am probably around 99.9. I believe it rounds up and down.

Intentional point dumping or just a terribly stupid plan/goal.

And will any of those that have many games vs herkman be considered as trying to take advantage of points dumping?...

theherkman just went freemium. Let's see what the mods say about it.

As for taking advantage, well, dunno that someone can blame his opponents (incl. myself) for joining these games. Personally, I'm not convinced that theherkman is to blame, despite HA's arguments (which are not unreasonable), it seems to me that it isn't clear that his explanation is unplausible.

Only Jigger1986 and one or two more people gained anything. The rest will be getting 0p/game.

eddie, how do you know he made a C&A report?

That aside, that he MAY OR MAY NOT have posted a C&A report does not equate to his having posted in the game chat.

Not quite - he was Guested.

I believe we already have. Though whether that has to do with the record attempt or other things (annoying posts and such) is anyone's guess.

The intent to gain from points dumping is what would matter. Not the net.

From the 50 games i played against him i gained about 350 points. While i feel it would be unfair to punish me, or anyone else who played against theherkman in this challenge, it would not bother me at all if the points won from these games were removed from my account.
I had no idea he was going to do this so there is no way i was trying to take advantage of points dumping.

Anyone who is familiar with CC would be very aware that with a huge number of active games many turns would be missed, play would be sloppy and lots of games and points would be lost.

He would have had to have about 10 active sitters to reasonably cover them all.

LOL. To the contrary I would say. First time anyone so royally screwed up this kind of challenge.
