Missing turns on porpose

Postby resitnecdan on Wed Jun 14, 2006 12:23 pm

I think that this should be punished some way or another. I mean there are some guys out there, and even among the colonels, that miss turns on porpose in order to get more armies next turn. This should be a strategy game (besides luck of course) and not a game in which you must win by any porpose (being more or less honest).
I don't know if this thread should be here or on the sugestions forum, but I think this is a form of abuse and should be punished somehow. Maybe even consider not geting the armies for missed turns to guys. I mean if you lose your turn it's your bad, you should not get your armies back.

Well. technically it's not a form of abuse since it is perfectly allowed. The game works that way. If you want to avoid the situation, you can just make the game sequential. All non-sequential games leave open some space for this kind of gameplay.

But, with that said. I agree fully with you. The difference between the no double-turns and the double-turns allowed options should be tighten up. It's really annoying when people wait to the last minute to play. But no, it's not an abuse. So yes, it should have gone in the suggestion forum. (But that's hust my humble opinion.)

This even happens in sequential games though. IU have been involved in some games where a person seems to have abandoned a game, then comes back after missing two rounds, in sequence, to control the game and even win.
