someone being kicked out for violating rules [Closed] KS

Postby carlpgoodrich on Thu Apr 08, 2010 8:35 am

Sorry if this is not the place to say this. I am playing a quadruples game (6691841) and one of the players on the other team got kicked out for "violating the rules". My problem is that all his territs and cards were given to one of his teammates. Although this might seem fair, it is completely screwing us because now this person has 7 cards and a bunch more territs. He is also the next player to go, so we have no time to rethink our strategy before he can cash probably two sets and break our continents. If you must give cards and territs to teammates: ok. But I think it would be much more fair to distribute them randomly or at the very very least give them to the last person on that team to have played, so the other team does not get a surprise attack they were not ready for.

I know there are no easy solutions to situations like this, but there has to be something better than what just happened.

Thanks,

And another thing. Why is it fair in a team game to lets someones troops go to neutral when they deadbeat but if they break the rules their teammates get their territs and cards?! Is deadbeating worse than cheating? That is the message you are sending. I do no understand a policy that gives an advantage to the teammates of cheaters! Would someone please explain this to me? I am so frustrated right now I am considering quitting CC.

I think you have some good ideas here and I hope you will post this in the suggestions forum. I think posting it here in Cheating and Abuse probably will get some views, but might not get as much consideration as it might in suggestions.

The random distribution of territories and spoils is a GREAT suggestion for deadbeats and rules violators in 3 and 4 person games. Perhaps in doubles games, half of the spoils and half of the territories can be handed over to the teammate. Currently, in doubles games, it is an effective strategy for a teammate to deadbeat and have their spoils and territories turned over to the teammate. While it doesn't always work out, there are some situations where it is beneficial...ergo the OP suggestion and my corrolary.

this is just one of the threads where these sorts of things were discussed back when the change took place.

The lesser evil was kicking them out. im sure if you look through the suggs & bugs forum you can find a thread about this or make one of your own.

But this isnt for C&A. Closing, take to suggs & bugs.

Sorry.
