Ranking Maps By Find Games Waiting For Players

I survey waiting for players at any given time (48 pages, you can scan the first 9 or so quickly).
Besides the tournament stuff its Classic Shapes, Middle East, World 2.1, some vanilla geography maps, Circus Maximus and Doodle Earth. The Age Of... series and Feudal War is one of the few regularly played complex maps. Those are current waiting games and are not subject to data distortion.

You can do it yourself for specific maps and for a specific time and date show the popularity of the map.

As at 11 pm 22 April

Classic Shapes - 324 waiting for p , reigning champion

World 2.1 - 224 waiting for p, very goof vanilla

Classic Art - 185 waiting for p , much less than classic shapes, why?

doodle Earth - 122 waiting for p (but lots of tournaments up), very good

Midgard (beautiful work, revamp still new) 92 waiting for p, very good for non-classic vanilla

Mideast (a popular georaphical map) 42 games waiting for p, good for non-classic vanilla

Wales (still in beta, beautiful work by a well regarded Draft stamp manager) 15 games waiting for p, possibly due to beta status but thumbs down by the public

Battle for Iraq (again beautiful, monsterously complex rules) 20 games waiting for players
thumbs down by the public

Midkemil (one of my favorites) 10 games waiting for player - this is just too old

In my opinion simplicity, gameplay and theme gets play. Graphics are last. Strangely enough the foundry is all about grpahics.

The list hasn't been updated recently, but it sorted all the maps availible at that time by how many new games had been made on that map in the past two weeks.
