For the next issue of foundry newsletter we are going to try something new.

What we want is community to PM me(gimil) with requests for photoshop tutorials on anything you want. I will pick my favourite of all the requests and put together a short tutorial for the next issue of the Foundry News.

Your requests can be from anything like 'How do you use the pen tool?' to 'How did you make Feudal War graphics?'

This section hopes to achieve a practical section to the newsletter that can hopfully help the sharing and learning of knowledge and skills across the foundry.

Alright gims, here's a poser...

Suppose I have a Group with 42 layers - 1 layer for each army circle. When I resize the map, how do I reposition the co-ordinates of the 42 circles without resizing the circles themselves? If I choose 75% linked resize, it will reposition the circles, but also apply 75% resizing to them.

But just wondering, what if u made an army circle into a brush, so that u could paint them all on 1 layer?

For army circles, I make 42 (or however many) layers and then merge them all into one when I'm done. It's a lot easier to deal with then, and moving them is as easy as making a selection and moving that, or cutting and pasting into a new layer and merging that one down.

I just make a group and name them the name of their territory.

The catch is that you can't resize (reposition the centres) without resizing (changing the size of the circles)

What I have done previously, is to resize the map, save it as a new file, and then copy the army circles layer(s) from the unresized version. It's probably easier to manage this if they're all on the same layer, but either way will require fiddling with individual circles.

part of me is wondering whether one of the transform commands will expand all the layers from the centre of each layer, rather than treating them all as a composite layer

No need to create for one circle one layer,mine all circles is one layer.
