Just curious?

I am taking my second GIS (Geographic Information Systems) class and love it!! For you youngsters out there...if you like making maps, definitely think about a career in geography or even urban planning. I am in grad school for urban planning and GIS is a highly valuable tool for visualizing urban data.

When I have time I would love to do a map completely in ArcView 9.2 and cleaning up in Illustrator.

I taught myself GIS at work. It is a very valuable tool!

too old to switch careers now. i'll stick to map making as a hobby

DiM...I don't think you're ever too old to switch careers. Especially if you are passionate about something. To each to his own though...

I'm a traffic engineer. We use it around the office alot for multiple reasons. It's not the main thing I do, but comes in handy knowing how to use it. Although admittedly I haven't used it in quite awhile.

Cool! I am concentrating in transportation planning. Nice one.

So, I always thought a traffic engineer was somebody who holds the Stop/Slow sign when traffic is cut down to one lane.

I'm guessing that's not you, Wicked, so please enlighten me.
