Question about maps

OK guys this may sound like a bit of easy question or maybe just stupid but I just wondered whether the maps we make have to be real? I was just wondering because so far every map I've seen has been real but if we can make imaginary places I have billions of ideas. Thanks for reading.

There are plenty of maps of non-real places... just take a look through the map list on the Game Finder, or in the Map Foundry Viewing Gallery.
