Yes Another XML Thread

Apparently over the past few weeks I've had WAY too much time on my head. The type of time where I get bored doing everything and just lay on the couch annd stare at the ceiling. I've got intrested in XMLing (in about September) and actually signed on to do that with the Baltic States map before unfortunately it was abandoned. On that map I helped out with the gameplay some which didn't change too much in the Drafting Room so I had a lot of time still and messed around XMLing for the map(just to pass the time). I want to try my hand at XMLing on a map that (hopefully ;) ) will be qeunched.

In short I'm saying I want to XML for a map. (That line was just so you don't have to read my story)

Just one question.

Any sites that are normally used to host the XML file?

Fileden, I think, is the easiest with the XML checker...

True, but it seems that some sites don't work with the XML checker. I uploaded it somewhere (The place DiM used to use), and it was incompatible with the XML checker, so someone switched me over to Fileden.

Ripway works really well with the Xml Checker :)
However, if you use it, be warned there have been issues getting in there lately as they have been changing over servers and upgrading security....or something like that.

If you are interested in doing the XML, I just got photoshop, and was considering trying a map for fun. just one question, would it be hypotheticaly possible to write XML up in such a way that an attack is only possible under certain conditions? i.e. terr1 can attack terr2 if and only if you do/don't hold terr3?

I don't think you can do that, but I'm not an expert

I agree with you, I'm quite certain that such game play is not yet possible with the current XML. See XML Suggestions and Modifications II for the current discussion topic regarding proposed changes to the supported XML functionality.

That's called Conditional Borders, and it's not possible yet, but it has been suggested many many times.

Unfortunately the sky will probably fall on our heads before we get another XML update...
