Kabanellas' Announcement

by Kabanellas
Some people are just too fast at pointing the accusation finger!I’ve fallen under suspicion of cheating (having 2 accounts), stripped of my Premium rights and expelled of some usergroups before I even had the chance of defending myself.
Rather than feel rewarded and appreciated for all my work, effort and commitment to this Site and Community I was publicly humiliated and treated as a criminal.
I’ve been delaying any decisions and consequent announcements until a final word from the administration concerning my situation.
It turns out that after being heard my record came clean. Too late I’m afraid. A circle of trust and respect has been broken rendering me unable of continuing the work I’ve been doing so far.
Therefore I’m declining further responsibilities and deeper involvement in any matter concerning this site, transferring from now on all decisions to my partners:
AndrewB in the
Third Crusade and
Dawn of Ages, and to
Raskholinkov in
Napoleonic Europe, in all extents of the referred projects.
Take care and have fun!

I am sorry to see you go Kabanellas, although I haven't had the chance to run into you or get to know I can tell you could of been one of the next big map makers with the quality you ave produced so far.
I hope your mind will change and you will come back to give the foundry the helping hand it always needs.

That sucks.. they're too harsh with the multi hunting... innocent until proven guilty, right? Proof then ban.
I wish you'd reconsider though. You make some cool maps and I was really looking forward to Napoleonic Europe. I think you ought to at least finish what you started before breaking.

I am very saddened by this news partner. I was looking forward to working together on DOA 2.
I hope that things change, and we can make that map. I had a great time with the the small amount of help that I was able to provide on DOA. and I know from that limited amount of working together we could have , er hell, still can make a spectacular map. I know that you feel dejected right now. Believe me I am also feeling a little bit of that myself. and am also contemplating leaving this place. But I know that I will probably feel different about it tomorrow or the next day. Either way it goes, Nice working with you, and god bless my friend.

I am shocked, appalled, and disgusted by how my friend and partner Kabanellas was treated. He is one of the nicest, brigthest, most talented, most dedicated, most creative, and hardest-working people I have ever encountered here - or anywhere, for that matter. He is the main reason I have had so much fun here over the past few months and have been able to get over the rougher patches of my CC "life". I have no intention to continue as a CC member in any capacity whatsoever without him here. Therefore, should his decision stand, I will also leave CC permanently. It just wouldn't be the same without him.

Oh man, do you got some weird anachronistic sense of Southern chivalry and gentlemanly honor? Don't take it too dramatically; there are morons everywhere. All I know is that your maps are beautiful, and I don't want to see you leave because a few people here have a bad attitude.

Oh dear - this is a shame...
CC gets it wrong every now and then...
I hope you'll reconsider - I was disappointed that you'd been busted as your maps look genuinely ace - someone with your talent needs to be making maps here.

Kabanellas,
I'm not sure exactly what happened behind the scenes. I know that you were never kicked out of any games, but that you did have your premium membership temporarily revoked; presumably there was some suspicious activity of some kind - I don't know? What I do know is that the multihunters will only act if they have a solid belief about something that they regard as suspicious.
On the flip-side, it's a shame that you got mixed up / caught up in this incident and have decided to retire from the foundry - I thought you were a shining light for the future.
If (when?) you do decide to return to mapmaking, then I'm sure you'll have the full support of everybody here.

Perhaps if this crack MOD squad would actually stop, drop and roll before PISSING ON CUSTOMERS, talent would stay and premiums would be more readily renewed. I do not know the details but a public apology appears to be in order and maybe a FREE premium given to this talented map maker. After all maps are at the heart of CC isn't it?
If there was only one or two maps I as many others wouldn't pay to play.

As always, whenever a reversal happens, we apologize for inconvenience we may have caused. And personally, whenever I see a valued contributor depart from the Foundry, it is always regrettable.

All well and good but instead of just saying sorry to see you go - DO SOMETHING.
Make it right.

Well said !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very very very .... well said Mr. Benn
Please Kabanellas ... take comfort in these words ... always trust the words of senior players who have never (NEVER ! ) ridiculed persons ... I have played with Mr. Benn and find him very fair ... please ... Kabanellas ... don't feel "ostricized" I have taken over for accounts that are on vacation or honeymoons and sometimes human error is involved ... I am actually happy to see the "anti-cheat squad" working aggressively to make sure that my games are not tainted by players that cheat - but rather enriched with the quality that MY membership pays for ! Accidents happen and people are only humans ... plz find solace in Mr. Benns words ... they really need to be read over and over by yourself ...
Please ....
PLEASE ...

Kabanellas....
Please find comfort in the words of Andy's message ...
I find them to be very sincere and from the heart !
Again Please Kabanellas ... I have played in over 110 of your maps in the short time that your map went beta and I have as good a gauge as anyone on the "enjoyment level" that you have brought to many players... I can tell you that you have made a very "earthquake tremor- like " impression in the hearts and minds of many players who are literally- like myself, salivating at the bits to play another game - IRREGARDLESS- of how the game may impact the time demands of our personal lives- let alone our own rankings (lol- I'll speak for myself on that one as I have had a hard time remembering each games progress while trying to play 150 simultaneous games ... lol ) ... in short ... KABANELLAS ... you are needed ! ... KABANELLAS ... be patient with the system.... I know that what I have said is "easier said than done " ... but if enough people are here to tell you ... be patient ... then KABANELLAS ... be patient ! .... please ... be patient ...

Many people appreciated your work here Kabanellas, and I've enjoyed the few games we played, but if you really feel that leaving is your best choice, then please do what you feel is best.
No one can really answer that for you.
Take care, buddy.

The multi hunters bust 1000's upon 1000's of cheating accounts. I can assure you they spend a significant amount of time fact checking and investigating, but people make mistakes and every once in a while an innocent person is wrongly banned. It sucks, but it's the nature of the beast.
I'm sorry that you were the victim of this Kabanellas, but as you can see you have a lot of support on this forum. Most people appreciate the maps that you've worked on and value you as a poster, so I hope you can manage to shrug off this mistake and come back to the site eventually.
Once again, it's extremely unfortunate that situations like this arise, but for the people who are upset: Blame the cheaters, not the multihunters. Hunters put in many hours working to keep this site free from cheating, and it's a rather thankless job. Obviously we would all love it if no mistakes were ever made, but no one is perfect and that does not give you the right to flame the volunteers who work so hard to keep this site running.

Why did you feel it required to mention this?
Why add this as some kind of child slap as if he needed to be told? He was angry, he was, no doubt, frustrated at the false accusation and reacted...hmmm...now how is it???...oh yes...as a human....to err is human as you all seem quick to point out.
Quite frankly I don't blame Kabenella. From what I read it would be something of a shame if he kept to his present decision yet you choose to exacerbate the situation.
Once again your arrogance and stupidity show through like a blot on the landscape.

Fellow Conquerors
I can’t possibly remain blind (or deaf) to all these comforting words of support and appreciation posted here in the thread and sent to me by PM.
I never wanted to make a big deal out of it, but I couldn’t either, leave it all as it was, like nothing ever happened. I have a fairly good sense of justice and dignity and I’m used to be treated accordingly.
Well, making a long story short, I’m back on track again, with no grudges or regrets.
