Medal Criteria
To get a Challenge medal you must achieve EITHER of the following:

• Play at least 15 of the 1v1 games (15 Pewter tokens) and win at least 60% of them. (Silver tokens/Pewter tokens = 0.6 or better).
  or
• Play at least 12 of the 5 player Assassin games (12 Bronze tokens) and win at least 25% of them. (Gold tokens/Bronze tokens = 0.25 or better)

For those who are playing the competitive scoreboard (for the higher prizes) the formula is the average of your 1v1 percentage and double your Assassin percentage. In other words, ([Silver/Pewter] + 2 X [Gold/Bronze])/3. You must qualify for a Challenge medal to be considered for the higher prizes. You do not need to qualify both ways (in other words, you can go up the scoreboard if one of your percentages is below the threshold, as long as the other one is above the threshold.) You do NOT need to worry about that formula if you are just playing for the basic Challenge medal.

Notes

• Games must start between CC Time: 2020-04-01 09:00:00 and CC Time: 2020-04-30 23:59:59 to be considered for the challenge.
• Wins will count until CC Time: 2020-05-31 23:59:59!!!
• Any issues will be solved by groovysmurf and Mad777, and our word is final.

Who can play a Challenge?
Challenges are open to everyone!

How do I join?
No signups required. Join and/or create games that meet the given parameters for this month as found in the OP. Only public games count towards the challenge unless otherwise explicitly stated in the challenge OP. There is also a "join games" link in the OP to provide an easy list of qualifying games.

What are the prizes?
All players who meet or exceed the minimum number of required points for the month will earn a Challenge Achievement Medal. The point requirements change every month as we aim to provide a vast assortment of challenges which includes a varying level of difficulty.


Site Event Medals are awarded to the top three finishers on the challenge scoreboard.

And the 2nd-5th place finishers receive: 1 Blue Conquer Star


When do I get my prize?
My goal is always to award prizes during the week following the completion of the event.

How do we deal with deadbeating?
Please report deadbeats in your games by sending me a PM. I will periodically do a random check however I cannot monitor every game. We will evaluate the distribution of prizes to a violating player on a case by case basis.

Tiebreakers?
Ties are awarded to the player who reached the point threshold first.

A player has me foed and it is preventing me from joining a lot of challenge games. What can I do?
PM the player in question. Be courteous and non-accusatory, ask why you are foed. Do your best to resolve any issues with the other user in this manner. However, if they decided not to remove you from their foe list then you will need to join games without that player or start your own.

What if I want to run a parallel tournament to the challenge?
Okay, awesome! Individual tournaments can be added to the challenges so that those games drop tokens. Send me a PM and we will get it added for the month.

Rulings:
1. Deadbeats will have entry points stripped.
2. Wins by round limit will drop tokens.
3. Inventory relating to the challenge will vanish at the end of the year.
4. Bot games do not drop tokens.
5. Any unforeseen abuse is still abuse. Don't take advantage of the system.

It is all about percentage, you need to finish with the required win percentage to get a medal.

Yes. You MUST win 60% of your 1v1 games OR 25% of your Assassin games.

It's super-simple.

You have to EITHER win 60% of your 1v1 games (9 of the 15) OR you have to win 25% of your Assassin games (3 of the 12).

You don't need to do both. One or the other is fine.

We've had far, far, far more complicated formulas in the past.

Started a few hundred games before I saw the stupid win ratio requirements!

As someone who only plays 2-players games, I have a 54% win ratio, and I think it will be impossible for me to hit 55%, so the 60% is certainly unattainable for me. My goal is 25% win ratio instead of 60%.

And I don't play fog and no spoils, so I will have lost the first 20+ games I started on these settings learning how to play fog with no spoils since the game outcome is essentially decided the first turn, and if not the first then the second turn. I played wrong my first turn on each of those 20+ games!

The 60% win ratio will be obtained only by that one player who will beat me in my first 20+ games! They will have 100% win ratio.

I thought this would be like the Christmas event where skill is not a deciding factor. The red star winner is simply the biggest loser who plays the most.

I will just be playing Soviet Union for fun.

Question. If the game ends because buddy is just going to miss 3 turns because he thinks that will end the game faster, will I still get my silver challenge token for the win?

You must have a target met when the challenge ends, yes.

Do you have to play enough games to qualify both ways or can you qualify for the higher medal only playing 1v1 games? I understand you don’t need to qualify on percentages both ways, must you play both assassin and 1v1?
