Yep it's been noted. It'll be fixed whenever I can find some time to finish an update.Gilligan wrote:I apologize if this has been brought up already, but Zwickau really looks like Ewickau.

Linked above is an elevation map of the area. From this, I gather that there are some highlands at least on the eastern part of the border. There are also several rivers in the area, though none run through along that line. I ...

Instead of talking about problems, let's talk about solutions. ;)
Pepperonibread is already working on possible fixes to the issue of legibility/visibility of names/armies/borders, so let's not speculate further until we can see what alterations have been made.

Sorry but I don't think that will ever be an option; the site's creator has never allowed the revamp and original to stay online at the same time.Viper3910 wrote:Can you please keep the original Germany map for those PREMIUM users who like it.
I don't like the revamp at all and won't be playing it.
Thank you.

Re: [Official] Germany REVAMP - POST CONCERNS HERE
The issue of visibility and legibility are important. As far as I can tell, the amendments that are now being mooted are:
1. Some form of circles/patches to assist reading of army numbers
2. Slight alteration of region colours
3. Possible change of typeface to assist legibility
Thanks to everybody ...

Re: [Official] Germany REVAMP - POST CONCERNS HERE
I can see the borders perfectly in that screen capture as I can on my own games. I reiterate this point because it really puzzles me that people cannot see the lines at all in the dark region, when on my screen they are as clear as any of the other borders. #-o You guys must have some wacky ...

Re: [Official] Germany REVAMP - POST CONCERNS HERE
I agree with those that were of the opinion that there are better ways to represent the colors of Germany than making 3 sets of similarly colored regions... it's just not a good idea. If they were shifted around like the other version of the map that Bruce posted, it would be acceptable.

Re: [Official] Germany REVAMP - POST CONCERNS HERE
If someone's screen settings are screwed up somehow, you shouldn't be able to show it in a screenshot. Because the pixel data each computer gets and sends is the same, only a screen with bad settings would display the image differently.
So the screen cap doesn't help unfortunately. A person having ...

There you go twisting words.. A true liberal. A vile attempt to discredit me.. You *sshole. I never said i like the british isle revamp.. But applied the meaning of the word to the result of the image. As i said your map is not a revision, or a reconstruction of an exsisting image.. You have a new ...

Well all i did was scan the thread and not read to much into.. Well for the first 17 pages the foundry regulars were in there tickling your balls and patting you on the back.. It was not until bruceswar comment on page 17 that i saw a serious dislike for this map.. And then you did not even respond ...

I do think the appearance of the new map is much better, but I also understand why many people are having difficulty playing on the new one due to the colors.

Re: [Official] Germany REVAMP - POST CONCERNS HERE
Not an improvement over the original - having the "better" map switched in halfway during a doubles game was further irritating.
Just two negatives: 1) the font is so gothic, I can barely read it. 2) the colors of the diff. bonuses are not as distinguishable as the original map.

Personally I love the revamp and will actually play the Germany map now. I've got one gripe though: Ewickau is Zwickau in the deployment menu. I think it is supposed to be Zwickau but the font is a weird and looks like a E, so could this be changed to look more like a Z?

Re: [Official] Germany REVAMP - POST CONCERNS HERE
Thanks killing, tyche, and danryan. So it seems that a primary visibility concern is distinguishing army numbers from some of the more saturated backgrounds. I think this can be basically remedied by tweaking a few colors and adding army shadows on some of the territories. Like killing suggested, I ...

Re: [Official] Germany REVAMP - POST CONCERNS HERE
Ok Bruce so your concern is that the 97 was on the OLD MAP'S Potsdam, but is now on Berlin.
If that's the case, then I've got no idea what happened there. I rechecked the XML's and everything, and Berlin is one of the those territories that is named the same on both maps - so if it's on a "Berlin ...
