The actual rank you have is arbitrary, in my opinion. Just because you made captain or major out to be some big deal doesn't mean anything really changed. You are still ranked _______(insert number) on this site, and whether we call them all privates or colonels that won't change.

Well said and good point! this however also paints all other high ranking players with the same paint. They are then all guilty! Again this comes down to the highly ineffective points system!

I don't wish to pass judgement one way or the other, but it does not paint all other high ranking players ...

None the less, all you needed to do to end this argument was admit that you failed to take into account the many games in which high ranked players do play one another and back off this generalization.

This a stupid accusation - you have provided no evidence apart from the fact that JR played with this guy and won...

At least point out some suspicious actions in the game. I strongly suspect this is driven out of a personal grudge than any fair review of the evidence at hand.

Most high ranks will play against each other to some extent... there are some who mostly play against high ranks - you can check my games if you like, I haven't played too many against all-comers recently (I think I have one open). Comic boy is another guy with a similar philosophy.

Some thoughts:

On the auto-attack issue, I used to never use it when taking out players in escalating singles games, because I was paranoid about losing 40 armies in a row... however now I often use it because:

1) I am too lazy to attack everytime now, it used to take me nearly a full hour to ...

One way to settle it could be to see if everyone will agree to playing another game, but make it escalating this time, and the winner of that game gets to win the circus maximus game too...

The ranks are certainly an indication of skill. Ive simply never seen a player at captain, or even leutenant that did not play the game well.

Back on topic (sort of) I think rank is a direct indicator of luck ...

That game finished over a year ago (November 2006)

sjnap wasn't a general then... in fact he had only joined the site a few weeks earlier, so his score would have been much lower, perhaps around 1000, the other player obviously had a higher score at the ...

Whilst I might have technically cheated the site (although they did get an extra premium out of it), what has really really got to me is the insinuation that this follows through to cheating in the game space - which I abhor.

I don't know whether you're cheating the site... but I think you are ...

I have played with deguu many times. He is good enough to win any game without any help. I highly doubt that he is involved in foul play.

I agree with you here kid... but the argument that someone is good enough to win without cheating is a poor one, there have been plenty of cheats who were good ...
