What a smart and unique new recruit! already understands how to quote people and apparently knows how to fill out the form for cheating and abuse as well. He also seems to be very good at farming in other new recruits to join his cirvicus maximus games.

Re: is this cheating ????
How is it that you even get a generic form to fill out, and people STILL don't have the brain capacity to know what to do?
how is it that you dont have the brain capacity to become a higher rank?

weird how they both missed a turn at the same time but i doubt that anyone would have two premium accounts

Re: Both attacking me and not answering... [No Form]
This brings up an interesting question. That of players that know each other and play each other a lot then entering other games with different players.
I have myself ended up in 4/5 player games where the others clearly know each other and guess what they all attack me and leave each other alone ...

Re: GOLDEN RULES to help lower ranks improve
Guys and Girls, I had been playing RISK and other board games for a few years now, it seems when some people sit in on a game that when they see others about to cash in 3-5 cards they toss the golden rule book out the window and forget that the lower players could help them by not attacking them ...

Re: GOLDEN RULES to help lower ranks improve
How about:
In any attack, be prepared to lose 4 or 5 times as many armies as you are planning on losing.
Seriously though, what would a hard and fast rule be; one which would apply to every map, game type, fortification type, fog of war, number of players, card type?
Taking just the classic map ...

Re: Killing off people?
If I understand correctly you cited a World 2 game and your lowest count was 10 nations. On this map it's easy to miss the weak trees in the forest and there are so many short term goals it is possible that no one either noticed or wanted to invest the effort to remove your remaining 10 nations ...

Re: Killing off people?
I have seen a few games where one player has very few countries left and is earning a pitiful 3 armies per turn while everyone else has a continent.

Re: Signal Jamming: a worthwhile strategy?
I do this almost every turn in every fog game I play (which is the majority of my games) - never had anyone complain.
And yeah, sometimes every 1 goes on a different territory, and sometimes they all go in one place... most often it's a bit of both.
A couple times I've watched you play and seen ...

FabledIntegral
you give a very convincing argument bout ESC games being a game of strategy while flat and no cards are devoid or at least of it
your points are partly valid
however, that's from your point of view
i'd like to affirm/disprove some of your points

Re: What keeps you interested??
What keeps me interested is my opponents, I like seeing players with exciting new strategies, some unusual but all you can take something from, in every game I aim to learn something new, I try never to use the same strategy twice, and sometimes players don't like it.

Re: What keeps you interested??
The assertion that a game with a very simple algorithm for victory doesn't have any variation in strategy is just silly -- the perfect examples in my opinion are Risk, Hold'em and Go -- all have very very easy basic strategies, however the opponent is an x factor, the random placement is an x ...

Re: What keeps you interested??
I think that most members already gave the right answer. First, try to raise your score as highest as possible (then everybody will see that you are really good) and Second, try different variations (then everybody will see you are a true strategyst and not just good at one specific map).

Re: What keeps you interested??
To me, it seems there is a point in Risk in which strategy cannot be further improved. I understand that some of the maps are more complicated, but I still recognize similar limitations in all of them. I'm getting bored quickly, but I think that perhaps speed free-for-all games might provide the ...

Re: GOLDEN RULES to help lower ranks improve
How about the "don't attack for a card in flat rate (unless it's 1v1) if you have to kill like 5 or more armies." I'm sick of people running over 5 armies or so because they want a card, and it's their only option, yet they fail to realize it most likely won't pay off. Even with a mixed set, the ...
