Re: PETA Killed 95 Percent of Adoptable Pets in its Care
Just to jump in late, the original story is seems not too far fetched.... I have reached the conclusion a while ago that many of those setting the agenda for the animal rights movement don't care so much about animals as they are about denigrating the relative rights of people - one of the principal ...

Re: Dark Tower Tournament [Round 3 Doubles Games posted p.5]
Having noticed that my own game for this round has lapsed without everyone joining, I quickly ran a search and it appears that 4 of the 10 games for this round were started (and are complete). The other 6 did not even start.
In light of this lack of continued interest, I am pretty much ready to ...

We have our winner. Congratulations to gunner1980, who managed to wrangle a 150 point bail out from the US Senate. A well played tournament by all... thanks to all who played.

Re: Dark Tower Tournament [Round 3 Doubles Games posted p.5]
There seems to be a problem with the games that were made for round 4; the three player groups are supposed to be playing against each other (driven mad by the thinny - a little in-fighting added by me not in the book). We will sort it out shortly and get new games sent, but in the meantime, if you ...

I'm a populist, fiscal conservative, social liberal. I also like to speak bluntly about race issues - to those who are consumed by p.c. culture, that can often sound like racism, but I'm far from a racist. I'll join, but it's a call for you to make whether I meet your criteria... you can always just ...

GD, I don't think I get what you are saying with the Flashback thing.
Also, thessel and I won our game.

With 6 of the final 8 weighing in on settings, we have some clear preferences for sunny, standard/seq., esc. HOWEVER, only one person bothered to vote on forts (many said they don't care about forts), so we will have unlimited forts. Game and PW will be sent out tonight.
Thanks all and good luck,

I'll do it, but I'm leaving tomorrow morning, and when I get back I have an online test to take.
So if you make (however many) games and private them, I'll join them when I'm done with all that.
Alright, accepted for 15 games. I'm sending the games by PM momentarily... join whenever, but ...

The Madness of gdeangel
It was a tedious day for gdeangel , and looking to play a little on an old favorite map, he discovered that the mapmakers had screwed around with a few things, and after a bit of the usual dice b.s., finally something snapped!

deadbeating is not cool.... I'll let any team that has someone in their ka tat who missed more than once ask for a replacement, as there were a few extra reserves last time when I had to make a posting to fill the last few games... so we can probably find replacements.

About the conflict between dice and map size
Well, I am reaquaiting myself with an old friend today... Madness 1v1. And now I recall why I don't play it much any more. Because two back-to-back 3-1 loss rolls can cost the game. And this, I dare say, is why the new maps being churned out have the exponential growth type bonuses, so that you can ...

Re: A different way of thinking about bad dice
I agree with the OP. Unfortunately the way this works in practice, is that you are clearing out the shit dice for your oppoent to get the good rolls. I have seen too many games where one side has all good dice and the other all crap dice (seen from both sides as a matter of fact).

All round 3 games have started.
Net-net, teams having some reserves called up are:
Ryall55, Ekimlil216, spidey & mitb. (mitb returns after missing round 2. fellonius drops out after playing round 2 for mitb. No points extra points to mitb for this.)

Re: If Barack Obama owned CC…
Back on the original question, the Obama policy would be much like the current cc regime. The tax for losing would be much higher for "big earners", i.e., people who play, win, and make it to the upper ranks of major, colonel, etc. BUT for the mega-rich, the top 10 farmers and such, who don't really ...

Re: Obama wants to bankrupt coal?
As I understand it, "clean coal" is just clean applications for coal (i.e., the technology is in the way the coal is used, not the coal itself). Meaning you have more efficient furnaces, scrubbers, etc. etc. so you don't get as much emissions. That doesn't mean its not a good way to generate jobs ...

5 Reserve spots open: Dark Tower 7 round tournament
I have five, possibly seven, no-show slots available for reserves in the Dark Tower Tournament I am running. It is in round 3 (Wastelands) of 7, and follows the story line of the Gunslinger saga by Stephen King.

Wow, thanks. That is a pretty cheap loophole if you ask me. It's a guaranteed back-to-back if someone knows how to scam it... and probably another reason why "speed" games have taken hours to finish b/c people take up the whole 5 minutes to game this rule. I would submit a "suggestion" to fix this ...

Re: Supermax: Prison Riot! [Quenched]
By far the dominant strategy I've seen is to get control of the gang members outside the front gate (very drop sensitive), and then go for the warden from the back door. The simple way to make this a little more challenging would be to allow the tower guards to bomb not just the yard, but also the ...
