DaGip are you referring to me in your post? Because I don't want new big bright maps. I want Classic, and a couple of others that are easy to use, look good and are uncomplicated.

my 2 cents on this whole stupid classic map saga:

1. the word 'CLASSIC' refers to something pre-existing that we want to resemble - so let's drop it and call it EARTH or WORLD 1
2. it needs to be a layout similar to EARTH - silly shapes and battleship codes are great for an interim solution, and ...

if we use map C) in the OP, ie. have the board cut through at a different location, and tweak the internal 'zone' or is that 'region' boundaries, and change the name to EARTH or WORLD MAP or something and hurry up about it please, afterwards worry about how it actually looks.

SCRAP IT.

honestly, unless you can play 4v4 or 3v3v3, it's useless - even then i doubt it would be worthwhile.

the whole point is to have 'around 5 minutes per turn during your coffee break', and i spend half an hour just deploying the 50-odd troops every turn.
